What Will Be Their Motivation?

"Clean your room this weekend, I'll pay you 5 bucks"; "Eat your vegetables, I will give you dessert"; "If you play nice with your sister, I will let you play on the iPad".... The list of bribes most of us have used to motivate our children to do certain tasks is endless. Parents are always looking for a way to motivate their children, using bribes usually seems like a quick method that offers fast result, and parents are often too lazy or uneducated in the ways to motivate children that will benefit both the parent and the child in the long run. Parents want a quick fix, and are willing to suffer the consequences later just to get their child to do what they want them to, sooner versus later.
